Talking is not a small thing
A surprising number of adults go a whole week without a real conversation that was not about work or logistics. Not lonely exactly — just unspoken to. Ten minutes with a stranger who is genuinely curious about your day fixes more of that than it sounds like it should.
That is all this site does. It puts you in front of one person, live, and gets out of the way.
Why talking beats scrolling
Scrolling feels like company, but it is not. An hour of short clips leaves you exactly where you started, only more tired. Talk online to one actual person for ten minutes and something happens that no feed can fake: somebody heard you, and said something back.
That is the whole idea here. You do not prepare anything. You start talking, the conversation goes where it goes, and when it ends you have met someone — even if it was only five minutes on a video chat at 1am.

A conversation with no goal attached. Not a date, not networking, not a support group — just talking to another person for as long as it is enjoyable.
Do I have to flirt?
No. Plenty of conversations here are ordinary and friendly. Read the other person; if they are not in that mode, do not push it.
Is it weird to be here just because I am bored?
That is the most common reason anyone opens this site. Boredom is a perfectly good motive for a conversation.
What if I do not want to talk about myself?
Then ask. Most people are relieved to be the one answering, and you can stay comfortably out of the spotlight for the whole call.
